<홈 애프터 워>는 방 하나 크기의 인터랙티브 가상현실 경험으로, 테러 단체인 이슬람 국가(IS)에 점령당한 도시인 팔루자로 당신을 데려간다. IS에 대항하는 전쟁은 끝났지만, 도시는 여전히 위험하다. <홈 애프터 워>의 주인공인 아흐마이드와 그의 가족은 전투가 잦아든 뒤 집으로 돌아왔다. 그가 폭탄이 몰래 설치되었을지 모르는 집으로 돌아오는 것에 대한 이야기를 들려주는 동안 걷거나 공간이동을 하며 집 안을 둘러보며 한때 사랑했던 집에 공포를 품게 된다는 것은 어떤 일인지 알아보도록 하자.

Home After War is a room-scale, interactive virtual reality experience that takes you to Fallujah, a city that was under Islamic State (IS) control. The war against IS has ended but the city is still unsafe. There’s one looming fear for returning refugees – booby trapped homes and improvised explosive devices (IEDs) Ahmaied and his family returned home after the fighting subsided. Explore their home by either walking physically or teleporting in the space as he tells you his story about returning to a home that might be booby trapped.

 

가야트리 파라메스와란 가야트리 파라메스와란은 현재 베를린에서 활동 중이며, ‘NowHere Media’의 공동 설립자이다. 그녀의 작품은 전쟁, 평화, 폭력, 낙태 등 금기시되는 주제들을 탐구하고 있으며, VR을 매개로 바람직한 미래를 위한 현실을 만들고자 노력하고 있다. 그녀의 작품은 베니스 국제 영화제, SXSW, UN, Zentrum für Kunst und Medien, Bergen 등 다수의 국제 영화제 등에서 상영되었다.

Gayatri PARAMESWARAN Gayatri PARAMESWARAN is a VR creator and co-founder at NowHere Media. Her work has been presented at the Venice International Film Festival, SXSW, Zentrum fuer Kunst und Medien (ZKM), United Nations and more. Gayatri is most known for crafting VR experiences that tactfully deal with difficult and taboo human rights issues.
