ARTIST'S NOTE

나는 사랑에 실패했고, 더는 사랑이라는 허상을 쫓고 싶지 않았다. 작업을 통해서 눈에 보이지 않는 사랑의 형태를 보고 싶었다. 길거리에서 섭외한 '아무나'이지만 '아무나'일 수 없는 사람들과 마주 앉아서 '사랑'을 매개로 대화를 한다. 영화는, 등장하는 인물들이 찍은 사진을 배경으로 클래식 음악이 깔린다. 익숙할 수도 있고, 진부할 수도 있는 사랑 이야기를 낯선 방식의 화면 구성을 통해서 이야기의 흥미를 유발한다. 작업의 제목은 사랑의 상징으로, '아만다(아무나 만나지 않는다)'라는 소개팅 앱의 상호를 ‘아만다(아무나 만난다)로 패러디하고 있다. 영화「아만다」는 사랑이다.

I failed at love. And I didn’t want to chase the illusion called love anymore. through this work, I wanted to see the shape of love that cannot be seen with the naked eye. We sit face to face with people who are ‘anyone’ but cannot be ‘anyone’, and talk about love. In the movie, classical music is played against the backdrop of photos taken by the characters. A love story, which may be familiar or cliché, evokes interest in the story through unfamiliar screen composition. The title of the work is a symbol of love, parodying the title of a blind dating app called ‘Amanda(I don’t meet anyone)’. 「Amanda」 is love.
