DESCRIPTION

이 애니메이션 드로잉은 여행의 불안정한 영역을 기억의 연관성과 결합한 작품이다. 끊임없이 형태를 만들어 내는 애니메이션에서는 공항 환승 구역과 사람처럼 행동하는 새들부터 조각난 나레이션까지의 모든 이미지를 나란히 나열했다. 작품의 출발점은 히드로 공항의 다종교 기도실이다.

Animated drawing <Multi-faith Prayer Room> combines limbo zones of travelling to assosiativeness of memory. Constantly shaping animation juxtaposes images from transit areas of airports and humanised birds to fragmented written narration. The starting point of the work is Heathrow airport's hybridised prayer room.

ARTIST'S NOTE

전시와 동시에 <다종교 기도실>을 드로잉하고 집필했다. 이는 그림의 불완전성, 제안성 및 유기적 형상을 통해 텍스트와 그림의 의미를 볼 수 있는 구조를 생성해 낸다. 기억과 인식의 연관이 다양하게 때로는 상반된 방향으로 이어지는 형태로 애니메이션 드로잉과 글쓰기가 이루어진다. 작품은 서사의 전달 영역을 개략적으로 설명하고, 말과 드로잉과 그들이 나타내는 내용 사이에는 어떤 인간의 영역도 펼쳐지지 않는다.

<Multi-faith Prayer Room> is drawn and written at the same time as it is displayed. This feature creates a structure where meaning of the text and pictures is visible through incompleteness, suggestiveness and organic shaping of drawings. Animated drawing and writing is a form of thinking which by the assositions of memory and perception is lead to various often contardictory directions. Work outlines transit area of narrative, open no man's land between words and drawings and the content they represent.

베사-페까 란니코Vesa-Pekka RANNIKKO

헬싱키에 거주하면서 다양한 예술 분야 -조각, 비디오, 설치 미술 및 퍼포먼스-의 작품 활동을 한다. 그룹 “NE+ and BAR”의 일원으로 그리고 개인적으로도 작업한다. 1990년대 초반부터 코펜하겐의 Galleri Lars Olsen(2012), 베니스 비엔날레 (2011), Amos Anderson 미술관(2003), 및 헬싱키의 키아스마 현대 미술관(2008,2007)과 같은 곳에서 전시했다.

A visual artist who lives and works in Helsinki. Works with varying fields of art: sculpture, video, installation and performance. Creates performances as a member of a group (NE+ and BAR) and by own. Works have been presented in exhibitions since the early 1990s, including Galleri Lars Olsen in Copenhagen(2012), Venice Biennale in(2011), Amos Anderson Art Museum(2003) and Museum of Contemporary Art Kiasma(2008, 2007) in Helsinki.
