DESCRIPTION
Not Anymore: A Story of Revolution is a 15 minute documentary short that tells the story of the Syrian struggle for freedom as experienced by a 32 year old rebel commander, Mowya, and a 24 year old female journalist, Nour, in Aleppo, Syria. The film clearly and concisely shows why the Syrian people are fighting for their freedom, told through the emotional words of two powerful characters whose lives have been turned upside down and torn apart by war.

매튜반다이크 매튜반다이크는 미국인이며 다큐멘터리 제작자이다. 그는 조지타운대학에서 Security 관련 공부를 하고 석사학위를 받았다. 2007년부터 그는 북아프리카, 중동 그리고 중앙아시아에서 영상작업을 해 왔다. 2011년에 반다이크는 국제적 언론 보도의 중심이었다. 그때 그는 반역 부대에서 군인과 미국의 자유 투쟁가로써 리비아 혁명에 무하마드 가다피Muammar Gaddaf에 대항하여 싸우는 중이었다. 그는 아부 살림 Abu Salim 감옥에서 탈출하고 전쟁의 끝까지 참여하기 전에, 가다피Gaddafi 부대에 붙잡혀 약 6개월간 감옥에서도 독방에 갇혀있기도 했다. 그는 최근 첫 번째 작품을 완성했으며, 제목은 "Not Anymore: A Story of Revolution,"이다. 그는 현재 다큐멘터리 제작자이며 책을 쓰고 있다. 2011년에 리비아에서의 전쟁에서 감옥수와 투쟁가로써의 그의 경험에 대한 내용이다. 그리고 그는 텔레비전과 라디오 프로그램 게스트로 활동 중이며, 자주 아랍 세계와 혁명 그리고 국제 안전에 대한 사건을 가지고 글을 쓰고 있다.

Matthew VanDyke Matthew VanDyke is an American documentary filmmaker. He received his Master’s degree in Security Studies from the Georgetown University School of Foreign Service. VanDyke has been filming in North Africa, the Middle East, and Central Asia since 2007. In 2011 Vandyke was the subject of international press coverage when he fought against the regime of Muammar Gaddafi in the Libyan revolution as an American freedom fighter and soldier in the rebel army. He was captured by Gaddafi's forces and spent nearly 6 months as a prisoner of war in solitary confinement, before escaping from Abu Salim prison and returning to combat until the end of the war. He has recently finished his first film, titled "Not Anymore: A Story of Revolution," about the ongoing conflict in Syria. He is currently working on a book and is a producer on a documentary film about his experiences as a combatant and prisoner of war in Libya in 2011 (directed by twice Academy Award nominated director Marshall Curry), is a guest on television and radio programs, and frequently writes about the Arab world, revolutions and international security issues.
