DESCRIPTION

얼마 전 헤어진 연인에 대한 모순적, 그리고 불안정한 생각을 안은 한 남자가 텅 빈 도시를 걷고있다. 이별이 둘 모두에게 더 나은 선택이라고 믿긴 하지만, 그는 그녀와 우연히 만나도 인사 하나 나누지 못하는 상황을 상상할 수 없다. 이제 그녀를 향한 감정조차 알 수 없다.

Going through a journey in the streets of the empty city, except from him and his beloved, loaded with unsteady and contradictory feelings towards her, after their relationship had come to an end recently. Despite his belief that their separation is better for both of them, he could not get the idea of her passage before his eyes without even exchanging greetings… He could not define what feelings he carries for her, any longer.

ARTIST’S STATEMENT

사랑은 우리 자신들을 직면 할 수 있게 해주며, 우리가 살아있다는 것을 증명 해준다. 마치 추운 겨울에 발가락을 가구에 실수로 부딪친 느낌처럼, 우리자신들이 얼마나 나약한 존재인지 인식하며 또 우리가 결국 인간이라는 점을 상기시킨다. 사랑은 목표나 통제 대신 명상과 사색의 수단이다. 사랑은 사람들 사이에 다양한 감정들이 언제, 어디서, 또 어떻게 이어지는지 생각할 수 있는 기회를 준다.

Love exposes human beings in front of themselves, proving to us that we are still alive. It is like hitting your small toe in a piece of furniture in a cold winter by accident? so that you become aware of how weak you are, remembering you are a human being. Love is not an aim in itself nor it is a means for control, but it is a means for meditation and contemplation.

모하마드 엘-하디디

이집트의 영화감독이자 프리랜서로 예수회영화제작워크숍에서 독립영화 제작을 공부했으며 이집트의 유명 감독 이브라힘 엘 바투의 장편영화 <하위>(2011)에서 촬영을 담당하였다. 단편영화 <우유 배달 가는 길>은 2013년 카이로에 있는 프랑스 문화원에서 열린 영화제에서 최고단편영화상을 수상했다. 2013년에는 첫 장편영화 <더 마이스 룸>을 완성했으며 알렉산드리아 지역의 독립영화 감독들을 지원하는 단체 ‘루피’를 공동 설립했다.

Mahamad El-Hadidi

An Egyptian filmmaker and a freelance studied independent filmmaking in the Jesuits filmmaking workshop in 2009/2010. He worked as a cameraman in Ibrahim El Batout's feature “Hawi” in 2011. His short film "Alban Wady El Neel" was awarded the best short film award in the 9th rencontres de l'image Film Festival in Cairo in 2013. He produced the short films "17 Fouad Street" directed by Ahmed Nabil which won the Best Short Documentary award in the 10th rencontres de l'image Film Festival in Cairo and "El Bostan El Saeed Street" directed by Maysoon El Massry in 2014 which won "Radwan El Kashef" award in Luxor African Film Festival in 2014. In 2013 he made his first feature film "The Mice Room" and co founded Rufy's; an independent film house and a self funded initiative that supports independent filmmakers in Alexandria.
