케빈 존스는 이 작품을 통해 자연에 대한 예술가와 과학자의 호기심을 서로 조화시키려 한다. 화학이나 물리 같은 이미 확립된 과학 분야의 상징적인 언어를 사용해, 기호와 체계에 대한 작가만의 개념적 분류 체계를 만들었다. 이미지와 사물은 서로 서로 밀고 당기는 관계를 맺고 있다. 최종적으로 멈춰있는 상태에서 어떤 조합은 좀 더 형식적인 관계를, 또 다른 어떤 조합은 좀 더 시적인 관계를 보인다
With the video work, Concerning Things That Can Be Doubted, Kevin H. Jones combines the curiosity of artist and scientist in his exploration of the natural world. He uses the symbolic language of established scientific disciplines like Chemistry or Physics in order to create his own conceptual taxonomy of signs and systems. Images and objects ebb and flow as they build relationships to each other. Some juxtapositions have clear relationships some formal other are poetic in their final resting state.
ARTIST’S STATEMENT
Over the past four years within Kevin’s work, one can see transitions in and synthesis of media including painting, video, physical computing, and more recently, 2-dimensional digital prints. Through this synthesis of media, the conceptual investigation of the natural world through charts, diagrams and systems is a constant theme. His early work used solar energy to power a fictional television station, while more recent work uses sensors to create an interactive video installation that questions entropy.

Kevin Jones Kevin H. Jones currently resides in New Orleans, Louisiana were he is an Associate Professor at Tulane University. Kevin has degrees from Virginia Commonwealth University (BFA, Painting and Printmaking), The University of Texas at Austin (MFA, Painting) and Yale University (MFA, Design). |
