샐리 보스로이드 호주 멜버른의 빅토리아 예술대학에서 애니메이션을 공부했다. <힙노캣의 모험>(2004)에 작가, 감독, 제작자로 참여하며 데뷔했다. <냉장고 뒤>(2006)로 2007년 멜버른 코미디단편영화제 경선에 올랐고 싱가포르국제학생영화제 등 다양한 영화제에 초청된 바 있다.
