<그날 새벽 안양, 유토피아를 꿈꾸는 사람들>은 평온한 듯 보이는 모습 뒤에 사실은 인간 세계를 세뇌하는 세력이 있다는 가상의 설정 하에, 작가가 상상하는 유희적인 디스토피아의 이야기이다.    

 <Anyang at the Dawn of the Day: The City Dreaming of a Utopia> is a playful story of a dystopia, based on a fictional premise that behind this ordinary and peaceful façade, lurks a dark force that conspires to brainwash the human race.

사회적 상황과 관계적 맥락을 변이 시켜 작품의 주체로 끌어내는 작업을 한다. 기민한 성찰과 타자의 목소리에 대한 관심을 바탕으로, 한국 근대화에 얽힌 사적 경험과정체성, 성노동자, 신화, 생태 등 폭넓은 주제에 주목한다. 2006-2007년 암스테르담 라익스 아카데미에서 수학했고, 2008년에 에르메스 미술상을 받았다.       

SONG Sanghee

Sanghee Song tweaks social situations and relative contexts to bring these issues to the foreground in her artworks. Based on her power of attentive reflection and interest in the voices of others, she works with a broad range of topics such as her personal experience with Korea’s modernization process, identity, sex workers, myths, and ecosystems. She studied in Rijksakademie for Visual Srts in Amsterdam (2006-2007), and received the Hermès Foundation Missulsang in 2008.
