DESCRIPTION

피사체와 카메라, 카메라에 담기는 피사체의 형상 사이에는 어떠한 막이 존재한다. 피사체와 피사체의 형상 사이에 존재 하는 막은 둘 사이의 차이를 분명히 드러냄과 동시에 둘 사이의 영역을 구분 짓는다. 영상에서 여자는 끊임없이 반복되는 행위를 통해 막을 각인시키고 인지하게 한다. 역설적이게도 관람자는 여자의 존재를 생각하고 막 이면의 공간과 시간에 대해 상상한다. 하지만 스크리닝되는 막 이면에는 아무것도 존재하지 않는다. 얇은 막에 스크리닝되는 영상은 단지 이미지화된 데이터 일뿐인지 혹은 이미지 넘어 피사체의 존재는 실존하고 있는 것인지 알 수 없다. 다만 관객에게 피사체의 행위를 통해 막을 인지시킴과 동시에 피사체가 있는 공간과 시간을 생각하게 함으로써 실재와 허상 사이의 미디어라는 존재에 대해 고민하게 한다.

There is a certain curtain between object and camera, and figures of objects which the camera shoots. The curtain, which exists between figures of objects, clearly shows difference of these two and divides area between these two. A woman imprints and recognizes the curtain through behavior which is repeated continuously in the scene. Paradoxically the audiences think her existence and imagine space and time beyond the curtain. However, there is nothing beyond the curtain screening. We cannot know if image which is screened on the thin curtain is only data imaged or object exists actually beyond the curtain. This makes the audiences to seriously think about existence of media between reality and illusion by having the audiences recognize the curtain through behavior of objects and think space and time where objects exist simultaneously.

 

 

유소영

덕성여자대학교 서양화과를 졸업하고, 현재 SMIT(서울미디어대학원대학교) 뉴미디어컨텐츠학과 석사 과정에 재학 중이다. 확장미디어스튜디오의 팀원이자 뉴미디어 공공미술 실험 팀의 일원으로 <로봇을 이겨라2> 등의 프로젝트에 참여하였고, 게릴라 뉴미디어전시 및 공공미술전시 프로젝트를 진행 중에 있다. 다양한 매체를 통하여 현상의 표면과 이면, 반복적 현상과 소멸성에 대해 작업을 해오고 있다.

YOU Soyoung received a BFA in Duksung Women's University and currently studies for her Master in Newmedia Content/Art at SMIT in Seoul. She is a member of two teams: Ex-media studio and Experiment of new-media public art.
