숲은 시간의 경계가 모호한 ‘시간 너머의 초월적 장소’이자 현재와 거리를 두고 내면의 소리를 들을 수 있는 동굴과 같은 심연의 장소를 나타낸다. 어느 날 ‘찬송’은 깊고 오래된 숲에서 자기 심연의 존재를 만나게 되고 오래된 숲의 땅과 대기에 흩어져 있는 한국전쟁 전후 무고하게 죽은 망자들을 만나게 된다.

Forest is the transcendent place and an yawning abyss where it is like the cave of the innver voice. One day Chan-Song encounters herself in the deep forest and meets the dead who were the innocent civilian massacred in the Korean War. She walks with the deceased and their family into the healing water. Tombs in my ears is the story about the being beyond the landscape recognizing the present nature - the blue living creatures, light, water, and soil that make up the forest. It is to call the dead who were the forgotten in the old forest mixed the present with the past to the screen and confront the history of the past again and console the deceased.

 

김현주 

김현주는 영상과 설치, 퍼포먼스 등 다양한 매체로 ‘나는 누구인가’라는 존재론적, 사회론적 질문과 함께 낙후되거나 재개발을 앞둔 장소, 혹은 사회적으로 은폐된 장소를 대면해 왔다. 빈 장소나 버려진 사물들과 이야기 나누고 눈으로 보이지 않으나 우리 삶의 주변을 유기체처럼 떠다니는 오래된 존재들을 호명하여 그들이 가진 이야기들을 몸으로 수신하고 구체적 개입과 마찰을 통해 낯선 ‘무엇’들과 일체된 시간을 나누고자 했다. 현재는 서울예술치유허브 7기 작가로 입주하여 과거-현재-미래로 유동하는 인간의 ‘몸’과 기억에 대한 관심을 갖고 이를 영상과 설치를 중심으로 작업하고 있다.

 

 

KIM Hyunjoo

KIM Hyun-joo(born 1975 in Seoul) is the artist who currently lives and works in Yangpyung and Seoul. Her work is about the ontologistic and social question, “Who am I ?” and Korean retarded and concealed places where she faced with performance and media installation, and drawing. She participated in Seoul International Media Festival seven times, and exhibited ‘Day and night of island coveting the poetry’, ‘Dear my second’, ‘Styrofoamedhead’, ‘aus’ and so on. She was introduced in German and New Zealand through ‘Move and Asia’. She is now working on ‘the tombs in my ears’, the project about the civilian massacres post the Korean War.
