DESCRIPTION

 

공공의 극장으로 기능하면서 동시에 남성 성소수자들의 ‘크루징스팟(Cruising Spot)’으로 향유되었던 장소들은 6~90년대에 걸쳐 서울의 파고다극장, 극동극장, 성동극장 등을 중심으로 나타났고 전국적으로 확장되었다. 크루징의 주무대는 물리적인 공간에서 가상의 필드로 이동되었으며 한때 크루징스팟이었던 공간들은 이제 더 이상 시대에 유효하지 않는 듯하다.

During 1960-90s, several theaters and public spaces in Seoul and other cities, such as Pagoda theater, Keukdong theater, and Seongdong theater, had been appropriated as the crutial ‘cruising spot’ by male sexual minorities.
