DESCRIPTION

매일의 우리는 서로가 아주 다른 것처럼 버티고 산다. 결국 같은 모습일지도 모른다는 불안과 초조함을 들키지 않으려고 더 조용히 감추고 버틴다. 그렇게 사람들이 사는 도시는 움직인다. 자율적으로 혹은 의지와 상관없이. 이것은 도시의 이야기일수도 있고 삶의 계획에 관한 이야기일 수도 있다.극 중의 내러티브에는 공기이기도 하고 기억이기도 하며 존재 자체이기도 한 X 가 등장한다. 사라지는 공간. 함께 사라지는 시간, 재건과 동시에 상실의 대기, 난폭한 도시의 흐름을 아쉬워하는 화자에게 말한다. 어딘가 흩어져 남아있는 긴 시절의 기억들이 그리 멀리 가지 않고 있다고. 있기도 하고 없기도 한 채로. 지금 보고 있는 화면 어딘가, 공기 가운데에 있다고 위로한다.

We endure every day as if we are all different from each other. We continue to, more quietly, hide our anxiety and irritability that we may be the same after all. In that way, the city moves, in which people live, autonomously or regardless of its will. The story may be about a city or perhaps the plan of life. Or, it is a story about the disappearing space and time, the memories that belonged within them, many years being gone, and the sad emotions that arise from them. In the narratives, you will find the X that is the air, the memory, and the being itself. It tells the speaker who mourns for the disappearing space, the time that disappears with it, the reconstruction followed by the atmosphere of loss, and the violent flow of the city. That the memories from long years that are spread through somewhere are never going too far, in the state of existing yet not existing. It says it is somewhere on the screen you are looking at, or in the middle of the air.

김시연, 박서은

김시연은 프랑스 소르본 파리4대학에서 철학 전공, 프랑스 국립고등사진학교, 프랑스 파리 보자르에서 공부했다.

박서은은 한국외국어대학교에서 신문방송학을 전공 후 프랑스 파리 12대학, 아비뇽 대학에서 소비자마케팅 석사, 프랑스 AIx 마르세유 (폴세잔)대학 박사과정에서 소비자 심리를 공부했다. 2009년부터 <타인의 고통>, <당신에게 가까이> , <조용한 날>, <메멘토모리>, <인형의 집>, <그녀가 산 심장>, <무경계>, <숨> 등 영화와 미디어아트 작업을 함께 해 왔다. 도시 구성원의 위계질서, 계층조직, 타협구조는 어떻게 발생하는지, 기계적으로 반복되는 삶, 허수아비처럼 살아가는 삶을 각성시키는 실제의 사건은 어떻게 보이는지 비유의 방식으로 지속적으로 작업해 나가고 있다. 도시의 데이터를 통해 생각할 여지를 확보하고 변화를 만들어가는 일. 일상의 아름다움을 찾아내는 일. 호기심을 누르지 않고 툭툭 쳐서 깨우는 순간의 선순환을 즐긴다.

KIM Siyeon, PARK Seoeun

KIM Siyeon is a film director who graduated from National School of Photography (FR) and studied philosophy at Paris-Sorbonne University. Post-diplome Ecole des beaux arts de Paris, France

PARK Seoeun is a Filmmaker (Director, Producer, Writer) who graduated from HUFS (majored in Journalism), University Avignon, and studied University Aix- Marseille (Paul Cezanne). One work, Tremblement, has received several awards including the grand prix of 16th LVMH Young Artists’ Awards(2009) and was shown in France at the Galeries Nationales du Grand Palais. Winter was selected as a collection by the National Museum of Contemporary Art (KR) in 2015. City Rhythm has received several awards including the Honorary mention of Ars Electronica Winner 2019. The surrounding environment, the city, and people's emotions are central to our work, which focuses on hierarchical structures and how people who have compromised hierarchical order change society, and on the actual events that awaken the mechanical repetition of life.
