DESCRIPTION
튀니지에 사는 올파에겐 네 딸이 있다. 어느 날 첫째 딸과 둘째 딸이 IS에 가담하기 위해 가출하고 카우타르 벤 하니야 감독은 올파 가족의 이 비극을 허구와 실제 사이에서 재현하고자 한다.
The life of Olfa, a Tunisian woman and mother of 4 daughters, oscillates between light and shadow. One day, her two eldest daughters disappear.
To fill their absence, director Kaouther Ben Hania calls upon professional actors and sets up an ex- traordinary film mechanism to unveil the story of Olfa and her daughters.
An intimate journey full of hope, rebellion, vio-lence, intergenerational transmission and sister- hood, which will question the very foundation of our societies.

카우테르 벤 하니야 감독은 튀니지와 프랑스에서 영화 연출을 공부했다.
장편 데뷔작 는 2014년 칸 영화제 ACID 부문 개막작으로 선정되어 전 세계 15개국 이상에서 개봉하며 국제적인 성공을 거두었다. 다큐멘터리와 극영화의 경계를 넘나들며 끊임없이 새로운 형식을 실험해온 벤 하니야 감독은 <올파의 딸들>로 2023년 칸 영화제 공식 경쟁 부문에 진출해 다큐멘터리 최고상인 '다큐멘터리 작품상(L’Œil d’Or)을' 수상했다.Kaouther Ben Hania studied filmmaking in Tunis and in Paris. , her first feature-length film, opened the ACID section at the 2014 Cannes Film Festival and achieved international success on both the festival cir- cuit and cinema screens, where it would be distributed in more than 15 countries. Kaouther Ben Hania, who has continually experimented across documentary and fiction, made her first appearance in the Official Selection at the 2023 Cannes Film Festival with , which received the L’Œil d’Or for Best Documentary.
