  이은희Eunhee Lee

  이은희(1990년 대한민국 출생)는 기술 환경과 개인, 그리고 이미지의 관계를 관찰하며, 사회적 문제를 현대기술의 메커니즘에 빗대어 탐구한다. 기술은 과학의 산물일 뿐만 아니라, 다양한 경제 산업의 논리와 정치적 이해관계가 연결되어있는 복잡한 결정체이기도 하다. 이러한 기술의 현상을 예술의 방식으로 관찰하고 사유하는 행위는 작가에게 이 세계를 이해해보려는 시도, 그리고 기이하고도 부조리한 사회의 양상과 간극을 좁혀보려는 노력이기도 하다.
  
  이은희는 베를린예술대학교에서 순수미술학과 학사와 마이스터슐러를 졸업하고 한국예술종합학교에서 비디오아트 전공으로 조형예술학과 전문사를 졸업했다. 두산갤러리(2023, 서울), 더 레퍼런스(2021, 서울), 씨알 콜렉티브(2020, 서울) 등에서 개인전을 개최하였다. 토탈미술관(2022, 서울), 바시스 프로젝트 스페이스(2022, 프랑크푸르트), 국립현대미술관(2022, 서울), 서울시립미술관(2022, 서울), TINC(2022, 서울) 외 다수의 그룹전에 참여하였다. 그 외 제14회 DMZ국제다큐멘터리영화제(2022), 서울국제실험영화페스티벌(2018/2019), 서울국제뉴미디어페스티벌(2018)에서 작품을 상영했다.
  
  
  

  Eunhee Lee observes relations between individuals, images and technologies, and explores social problems in comparison to the mechanisms of modern technology. Technology is not only a product of science, but also a complex compound of different fields of industry with their political and economic interests. The art practice of observing these aspects is an on-going attempt to understand this strange and absurd world we are living in.
  
  Eunhee Lee (born in 1990, South Korea) received both her Bachelor's degree and a Meisterschüler from Universität der Künste Berlin in Bildende Kunst and then grauduated from Korea National University of Arts with M.F.A. in Video Art. She has held her solo exhibitions at Doosan Gallery (2023, Seoul), The Reference (2021, Seoul), CR Collective (2020, Seoul). She also has participated group exhibitions include Total Museum of Contemporary Art (2022, Seoul), basis project space (2022, Frankfurt), National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art (2022, Seoul), Seoul Museum of Art (2022, Seoul), TINC (2022, Seoul). Her video works have been also screened at The 14th DMZ International Documentary Film Festival(2022), the Experimental Film & Video Festival in Seoul (2018 and 2019) and Seoul International NewMedia Festival 2018.
