DESCRIPTION
<미쓰 박 프로젝트 #1>은 한국 근현대사 사진 속 여성들을 애니메이션 기법을 통해 현재의 시간으로 소환한다. 이는 하나의 의미로 기호화되지 않는 절대다수의 “미쓰 박”들을 귀환시키는 일종의 제의이다.
MISS PARK PROJECT #1 is a 3-channel animated work that summon the women from old, faded photographs of modern Korean history to the present day. It is a kind of ritual for the myriad lives of women that cannot be singularly symbolized and defined.

애니메이션 테크닉을 기반으로 영상작업을 하고 있다. 서울국제뉴미디어페스티벌, 서울국제만화애니메이션페스티벌, 낭시국제영화제 등에서 수상하였고, 한국영상자료원, 플랫폼엘 컨템포러리 아트센터에서 개인전을 가졌다. 서울시립미술관, 포항시립미술관, 해머미술관, 히로시마국제애니메이션영화제 등 다수의 국제 전시와 영화제에 참여하였다.
Suh Yongchu is currently working on moving image utilizing animation techniques. She has received awards or participated in various events such as Seoul International New Media Festival, Hiroshima International Animation Festival, Seoul Museum of Art, Hammer Museum and Platform-L Contemporary Art Center.
