이 순환은 시간의 책(일 년 열두 달 동안의 기도, 일곱 가지 죄에 관한 삽화 등을 담은 화려한 중세 서적)에서 부분적으로 영감을 받아, 인간의 몸에 관한 아홉 가지 희비극적 환상들을 제시한다. 아홉 개의 개별적인 비디오 장면들은 다양한 인간과 동물 캐릭터가 거주하는 작은 세계인 우리(cage) 안에 배치되어 있고, 각각의 장면은 몸이 지배하는 변형된 세계의 다른 측면을 보여준다. 익숙한 범주는 없어지고, 비례가 반전되며, 몸의 기능은 단순히 기계적인 동작에 지나지 않을 정도로 엉망이 된다. 우리들은 주제별로 배열되어 있으며, 각각의 우리는 물리적인 상태나 기능(정지, 이동, 다른 감각들 등)을 풍자적이거나 고통스러운 또는 꿈의 형태로 보여준다. 전체적으로 아홉 개의 장면은 일종의 엉뚱한 노아의 방주와 같은 형식을 취하고 있는데, 이것의 미학은 불안함과 언캐니라는 익숙한 기묘함을 부여한다.

This cycle, partly inspired by the books of hours (richly illuminated medieval manuscripts with prayers for the 12 months of the year, illustrations of the seven deadly sins and so forth), presents a series of nine tragicomic visions of the human body. Each of the nine different video scenes is set in a cage, a microcosm inhabited by various human and animal characters, and presents a different aspect of a deranged universe in which the body reigns supreme. Familiar categories are abolished, proportions inverted, the workings of the body go haywire to the point of becoming mere mechanical gesticulations. The cages are thematically arranged, each depicting a physical state or function (immobility, mobility, the different senses etc.) in an ironic, agonizing, or dreamlike mode. Taken as a whole, the nine scenes form a sort of wacky Noah’s ark, whose aesthetics give it the disturbing and yet familiar strangeness of the uncanny.
