  오용석Yongseok Oh

  오용석은 미디어아티스트이자 시각예술가입니다. <크로스, 2002~>를 시작으로 <드라마, 2003~>, <클래식, 2009~>, <비접촉연결지구, 2020~>, 등등 다수의 시리즈들을 이어가며 사진과 동영상, 과거와 현재, 영화와 일상, 등의 교차를 강조하는 작업들을 해왔습니다. 그의 작업들은 인디비디오페스티발(현 Nemaf, 2002)뿐만 아니라 서울미디어시티비엔날레(2006), 상하이비엔날레(2006), 세비아비엔날레(2008), 퀴베비엔날레(2008), 모스크바비엔날레(2011), 윌로비 비주얼아트비엔날레(2015), 등 여러 비엔날레에서 선보여져 왔습니다. 또한 ZKM(Center for Art and Media, 칼스루헤), Espace Louis Vuitton(파리), MAXXI(로마), Itau Culture(상파울루), Yerba Buena Center for the Arts(샌프란시스코), 국립현대미술관(과천), 플라토_삼성미술관(서울), 갤러리 현대(서울), 아라이오(천안, 서울, 제주)등 여러 미술관과 갤러리에서 전시되었습니다.

  Yongseok Oh is a Korean—born media artist and visual artist who emphasizes the crossing of the past and the present and of the real and the imagined. Starting with Cross (2002~), his first attempt to apply a unique video collage that he devised, he has continued with numerous series that emphasize the intersection of video and stills, past and present, and film and daily life, such as Drama (2003~), Classic (2009~), Contactless Connecting Zone (2020~), etc. His works have been exhibited at Indie Video Festival (currently Nemaf, 2002) as well as in several art biennales such as Seoul Media City Biennale (2006), Shanghai Biennale (2006), Seville Biennale (2008), Biennale Cuvee (2008), Moscow Biennale (2011), Willoughby Visual Arts Biennale (2015), etc. In addition, his works were exhibited in several art museum including ZKM (Center for Art and Media, Karlsruhe), Espace Louis Vuitton (Paris), MAXXI (Rome), Itau Culture (San Paulo), Yerba Buena Center for the Arts (San Francisco), MMCA (Gwacheon), etc.
