    현재 부경대에서 미국문화를 가르치고 있다. 지은 책으로 『문화번역과 주디스 버틀러의 이론적 프레임』, 『번역과 문화연구: 반복을 거부하는 합일』, 『세계문학 속의 여성』(공저), 『상처와 치유의 서사』(공저), 『미국근현대소설』(공저) 등 다수가 있고, 옮긴 책으로 『탈식민 페미니즘과 탈식민페미니스트들』(공역), 『인터넷 상에서』, 『군서치요』(공역) 등이 있다. 현재 상처받은 몸들의 정동과 연대의 문제와 씨름하고 있다.
    She currently teaches American culture at Pukyong National University. Her major publications include Cultural Translation and the Theoretical Frame of Judith Butler, Translation and Cultural Studies: Unity That Refuses Repetition, Women in World Literature (co-authored), Narratives of Wounds and Healing (co-authored), and Modern and Contemporary American Fiction (co-authored). Her translations include Postcolonial Feminism and Postcolonial Feminists (co-translated), On the Internet, and Gunse Chiyo (co-translated). Her current research grapples with the affective dimensions of wounded bodies and the possibilities of solidarity.

    She has worked as a film critic, film festival programmer, and guest senior researcher at the Korean Film Council. While writing extensively on cinema, she also teaches film-related courses at universities.

    한국영화와 영화이론을 중심으로 연구해왔고, 특히 세계체계의 맥락에서 한국영화의 형세를 살펴보는 것에 관심을 두고 있다. 언젠가 영화이론에 관련된 저서와 1970년대 초중반에 제작된 임권택의 영화에 대해 글을 쓸 계획을 세우고 있다. 《문화/과학》 편집위원이며 2022년부터 한국문화연구학회 학회장을 맡고 있다. 현재 한국예술종합학교 영상원 영상이론과에서 강의와 연구를 하고 있다.
    He has focused his research on Korean cinema and film theory, with particular interest in examining the trajectory of Korean cinema within the context of the world system. He plans to write a book on film theory and a critical study on Im Kwon-taek’s films produced in the early to mid-1970s. He is an editorial board member of Culture/Science and has served as the president of the Korean Association for Cultural Studies since 2022. He currently teaches and conducts research in the Department of Film Theory at the School of Film, Korea National University of Arts.
