ARTIST'S NOTE

우리는 시각적 인상이 지닌 가치와 그것이 촉발할 수 있는 모든 것을 조명하고자 한다. 우리의 의도는 아방가르드를 수용함으로써, 서사 중심의 영화와 고전적인 아리스토텔레스식 구조의 우선순위를 전복하는 것이다. 동시에, 실험 영화는 지루하고 난해하다는 통념에도 도전하고자 한다.

레코드를 놓고, 회전시키고, 뒤집는 행위에서 출발해, 우리는 멜로디, 하모니, 리듬 등 음악적 언어를 영화적 언어로 번역한다. 음악 장르와 영화 장르를 나란히 놓고, EP를 듣는 방식과 단편 영화를 감상하는 방식 간의 유사성을 탐구한다. 그렇기 때문에 우리는 감독의 영화적 인상에 기반한 곡/장(章)들을 제시한다. 처음에는 서로 연결되지 않은 것처럼 보이지만, 궁극적으로 하나의 통일된 전체로 수렴하게 될 것이다.

We aim to highlight the value of visual impressions and everything they can trigger. Our intention is to subvert the priorities of narrative cinema and the classical Aristotelian structure by embracing the avant-garde, while also challenging the myth that experimental film is boring and inaccessible.

Starting from the act of placing, spinning, and flipping a vinyl record, we translate musical language — melody, harmony, and rhythm — into cinematic language. We draw parallels between musical and film genres and relate the way one listens to an EP to the way one watches a short film.That's why we present songs/chapters — seemingly disconnected at first — based on the filmmaker's cinematic impressions, which will ultimately come together as a unified whole.
