ARTIST'S NOTE

서울특별시 성북구 정릉동에 위치한 정릉골은 서울에서 몇 남지 않은 달동네로 재개발을 앞두고 있다. 사람들은 떠나지만 장소와 장소에 대한 기억은 그곳에 남아 있다. 여러 기억이 장소를 배회한다. 이렇듯 외부자의 시선으로 재개발이 예견된 장소를 살피려고 할 때, 영화는 어떤 방식을 취해야 하는가? 장소를 둘러싼 기억을 살피고자 서로 다른 시선을 이미지적으로 병치하기를 시도한다. 그렇게 장소의 파괴와 재개발의 반복에 관심을 가지는 일이 어떤 의미를 지니는지 질문한다.

Jeongneung-gol, located in the Seongbuk-gu district of Seoul, is one of the city's few remaining shanty towns. Despite people leaving, the place and its memories remain. How should the film approach when representing an area destined for redevelopment? This work visually juxtaposes differing visions to trace the layers of memory embedded in the place. This raises the question of what it means to be concerned about the destruction of a town and the repetition of redevelopment.
