  마르티 마다울라 에스키롤(Martí Madaula Esquirol)은 마드리드와 바르셀로나를 오가며 활동하는 시각예술가이자 영화감독이다. 첫 영화 The Living Wardrobe는 2024년 Visions du Réel에서 월드 프리미어로 상영되었으며, Festival dei Popoli, 카셀 다큐멘터리 및 비디오 영화제(Kassel Documentary and Video Film Festival) 등 주요 논픽션 영화제에서도 소개되었다. 바르셀로나 대학교에서 순수미술을 전공했으며, 벨기에 헨트의 LUCA School of Arts에서 시각예술 석사, 시카고 예술대학(School of the Art Institute of Chicago)에서 영화·비디오·뉴미디어·애니메이션 MFA를 취득했다. 2019년 바르셀로나 대학교로부터 *순수미술 최우수상(Extraordinary Prize of Fine Arts)*을 수상했고, 2021년에는 미국 유학을 위해 “la Caixa” 재단 장학금을 받았다.

  Martí Madaula Esquirol is a visual artist and filmmaker based between Madrid and Barcelona. Madaula’s first film, The Living Wardrobe, had its World Premiere at Visions du Réel 2024 and it has also been shown in major non-fiction film festivals such as Festival dei Popoli or the Kassel Documentary and Video Film Festival, among others. Martí Madaula Esquirol holds a degree in Fine Arts from the University of Barcelona, a Master of Visual Arts from the LUCA School of Arts of Ghent (Belgium) and an MFA in Film, Video, New Media, and Animation from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. In 2019, he received the Extraordinary Prize of Fine Arts (University of Barcelona). In 2021, he was awarded a prestigious “la Caixa” Foundation fellowship to pursue his studies in the United States.
